King Lear | Cordelia (Character Analysis)
Cordelia is Lear's youngest daughter. When her turn comes to outdo her sisters in their protests of great love for Lear, she is strangely silent. Lear reacts with passion and withholds her inheritance, casting her fortune to fate since he will have nothing more to do with her. We might question why Cordelia does not say what Lear wants to hear when to do so would take little effort on her part. She demonstrates her deep love for her father later in the play.
